Resident Artist Exhibition, Chelsea, London (2026)
The works exhibited comprise Summer’s Blood, a 3-part series by London-based artist Clare O’Sullivan. The series explores moments of emotional and sensory intensity at the threshold between fullness and transformation. Inspired by Irish poet Seamus Heaney’s metaphor of “summer’s blood”, the works seek to capture the fleeting instant when passion, beauty and awe reach their fullest expression; when experience swells beyond language and the energy of the moment begins to transform, dissolve and give way to something new.
Summer’s Blood consists of 3 works: Rapture, Dissolve, and Ashbloom. All works are acrylic on stretched cotton canvas.
